THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

Research tells us that one of the most powerful elements of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. Because of this, I place great care in creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and affirming. I want you to feel safe enough to show up fully as yourself. I believe that every person carries a unique story, and my role is to listen deeply, honor your experiences, and help you make sense of how they shape your life. Together, we will work towards greater self awareness, clarity, and growth, so that you can navigate challenges with more confidence and resilience. In addition to the general therapeutic process, I bring specialized training and expertise in the following areas:

PLAY THERAPY

Children often express their thoughts and feelings through play rather than words. Play therapy offers a developmentally appropriate way for children and teens to communicate what they are experiencing in a safe, supportive environment. Through creative activities and therapeutic play, children are able to explore their emotions, work through challenges, and learn new ways of coping. This approach not only supports emotional growth, but also strengthens problem-solving skills, self-esteem, and communication with others.

TRAUMA

Trauma can affect every aspect of life, shaping how you think, feel, and respond to the world around you. I approach trauma therapy with deep respect for your story and the pace that feels right for you. Together, we create a safe and collaborative environment where healing can begin. Using evidence-based and strength-based interventions, I help you build skills to regulate emotions, reduce the impact of painful memories, and reclaim a sense of safety and empowerment in your daily life.

SELF-HARM

Self-harm is often a sign of overwhelming emotions that feel too difficult to manage in other ways. I have specialized training in supporting individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as cutting or skin-picking. In our work together, I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can better understand the emotions driving these behaviors. Treatment focuses on building healthier coping strategies, improving emotional regulation, and fostering resilience, so that you can move toward feeling more in control and supported in your journey.

ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

Anxiety and depression do not look the same for everyone. For some, anxiety may show up as school avoidance, burnout, or intrusive thoughts, while for others it may feel more like constant worry, restlessness, or physical tension. Depression, too, can range from lingering sadness to loss of motivation and difficulty finding joy in daily life. I have extensive experience working with both anxiety and depression, and I tailor treatment to meet your specific needs. Together, we will focus on building coping skills, increasing self-awareness, and finding strategies that help you feel more grounded, balanced, and supported in your everyday life.
